چکیده

We prove an analog of the Yomdin–Gromov lemma for p-adic definable sets and more broadly in a non-Archimedean definable context. This analog keeps track of piecewise approximation by Taylor polynomials, a nontrivial aspect in the totally disconnected case. We apply this result to bound the number of rational points of bounded height on the transcendental part of p-adic subanalytic sets, and to bound the dimension of the set of complex polynomials of bounded degree lying on an algebraic variety defined over C((t)), in analogy to results by Pila and Wilkie, and by Bombieri and Pila, respectively. Along the way we prove, for definable functions in a general context of non-Archimedean geometry, that local Lipschitz continuity implies piecewise global Lipschitz continuity. 2010 Mathematics Subject Classification: 03C98, 11D88 (primary); 11G50, 14G05 (secondary)

Non-Archimedean Gromov-Hausdorff distance

In this paper, we study the geometry of non-Archimedean Gromov-Hausdorff metric. This is the first part of our series work, which we try to establish some facts about the counterpart of Gromov-Hausdorff metric in the non-Archimedean spaces. One of the motivation of this work is to find some implied relations between this geometry and number theory via p-adic analysis, so that we can use the for...

Fixed Point Theorems for Single Valued Mappings Satisfying the Ordered non-Expansive Conditions on Ultrametric and Non-Archimedean Normed Spaces

In this paper, some fixed point theorems for nonexpansive mappings in partially ordered spherically complete ultrametric spaces are proved. In addition, we investigate the existence of fixed points for nonexpansive mappings in partially ordered non-Archimedean normed spaces. Finally, we give some examples to discuss the assumptions and support our results.

Gromov-Hausdorff convergence of non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces

We introduce the notion of the Gromov-Hausdorff fuzzy distance between two non-Archimedean fuzzy metric spaces (in the sense of Kramosil and Michalek). Basic properties involving convergence and the fuzzy version of the completeness theorem are presented. We show that the topological properties induced by the classic Gromov-Hausdorff distance on metric spaces can be deduced from our approach.

ATTRACTING CYCLES IN p-ADIC DYNAMICS AND HEIGHT BOUNDS FOR POST-CRITICALLY FINITE MAPS

A rational function φ(z) of degree d ≥ 2 with coefficients in an algebraically closed field is post-critically finite (PCF) if all of its critical points have finite forward orbit under iteration. We show that the collection of PCF rational functions is a set of bounded height in the moduli space of rational functions over the complex numbers, once the well-understood family known as flexible L...

A classification of hull operators in archimedean lattice-ordered groups with unit

The category, or class of algebras, in the title is denoted by $bf W$. A hull operator (ho) in $bf W$ is a reflection in the category consisting of $bf W$ objects with only essential embeddings as morphisms. The proper class of all of these is $bf hoW$. The bounded monocoreflection in $bf W$ is denoted $B$. We classify the ho's by their interaction with $B$ as follows. A ``word'' is a function ...
